I was born in the spring of 1978 and lived on Elm Street  in Haddonfield IL. In my youth, I spent my summers at Camp Crystal Lake cannoning and taking archery lessons. But, I digress, in all seriousness it boils down to this plain and simple: I love horror films. To me, the horror genre offers a wide variety of films to choose from and really does not get the love that other genres do, such as your action, drama and comedy. Horror is the red headed step child of the movie industry that is still looking for acceptance. The genre offers psychological thrillers, ghosts and the supernatural, classic and iconic creature monsters such as Werewolf's, Vampires, Zombies and last but not lest the straight up slasher films.

No matter the sub-genre of horror, a good horror film embodies these crucial elements:
1.Tone and Pace
2.Drama
3.Comedy (Not to much) just enough to break tension.
4.Lighting
5.Acting and Direction

A few of my favorite directors are Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Speilberg, Wes Craven, and George Romero to name a select few. These men were pioneers in how we viewed not only horror but film in general.

With that being said I look forward to our discussions on all things horror and hope that you will also enjoy our banter.
